Students Helping Unaccompanied Minors at UIUC

What is SHMU

SHMU is an class project that is dedicated to helping unaccompanied minors in the United States. These children are placed into an extremely vulnerable situation. So we have made it our mission to help all unaccompanied children adjust to life in the United States and provide them with the resources they need to thrive.

We are five students at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in Spanish 232: Spanish in the Community. Our class project for spring 2024 is to gather resources for unaccompanied minors.
